Samsung Galaxy S10 has 2 in-display fingerprint sensor suppliers: Report

GIS and O-film have signed a contract with Qualcomm to create a new sensor
GIS has received high yield rates in production
Both component suppliers are currently offering iPad touch modules

The Samsung Galaxy S10 features Taiwan-based General Interface Solution (GIS) and China's O-Film Tech as two component suppliers for its ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. This confirms a pre-report that claims that two Galaxy S 10 variants will start with in-display fingerprint scanning technology. The latest report also claims that the supply chain partners are tracking to complete the order of the new Galaxy flagship in January, which is expected to be formal launch for February next year.

Quoting the people familiar with development, Digitimes said that Samsung is set on the dual source of GIS and O-Film on-board Galaxy S10's in-display fingerprint sensor on the board. It is said that both the companies have partnered with Qualcomm to develop new sensor technology. GIS is considered to be the advantage of having higher yield rates in production, while the o-film is considered strong for its high production capacity at lower production costs.

It is believed that GIS and O-film Samsung will make some effort to persuade Samsung to get many orders, if the ultrasonic in-display fingerprint technology will be extended to the next Galaxy Note model. In addition, South Korean Giant 2019 could deploy similar technology on Galaxy A-Series devices.
